We can finally stop counting how long it has been since Blackstones last won a UCL Division One league game.

The answer is simple, two days, because on Saturday they beat Burton Park 3-2 to leave the run of games without a win stuck on 25 matches.

Burton flew out of the blocks in their opening game of the season and took the lead in just the second minute of action when Sam Walpole headed in at the near post.

However Blackstones were back on level terms seven minutes later thanks to strong run and finish from Addie Staffieri.

He added a second from a snap shot on the half hour mark to give Stones the lead.

After the break hosts Burton imposed themselves on the game and new signing Sam Rogers brought it back to 2-2 with a strike in the 74th minute.

However in the 88th minute Rhys Ford won the match for Blackstones, their first since November, after Staffieri pulled the ball back to Ford who swivelled to finish from 12 yards.

So Blackstones are now unbeaten after two matches this season, drawing their opening match 1-1 at home to Rushden and Higham United, and sit in third place in the table.

It will be some achievement if they can keep their winning run going tomorrow night (Tuesday, 7.45pm ko) when they travel to Peterborough Sports who put nine goals past Irchester United in their opening match on Saturday.
