Best result of season for flying Arran at city track
BMX rider Arran Shrosbree recorded his best result of the season on Friday with a third place at the end of a two British Cycling National BMX Series event at Peterborough last weekend.
After a very wet practice session on Saturday morning two fourths and second place put Shrosbree though to the semis, where a poor gate at the start forced Shrosbree to fight back to fourth and qualify for final.
In the final Arran began towards the back of the pack but with the racing was close and a last minute move at the last corner Shrosbree moved into sixth which he held to the line.
Sunday saw the track in good condition and in the motos Shrosbree qualified comfortably with two secnd and a fourth place finish for the semi-final, from which he qualified for the final in fourth place.
This time Shrosbree got a good gate, a powerful first straight and entering the first berm Shrosbree made the move to emerge in third position.
Despite constant attacks around the track Shrosbree held off the other riders and crossed the line in third – his best result to date.
