Water switch suits Wilson

DEEPING St James Angling Club members switched their John Harris Memorial Trophy from the Spalding stretch of the River Welland to the River Glen at West Pinchbeck on Sunday.

The Welland had less than 18” of water and no flow, and although the Glen also had no flow, all anglers managed to put some fish on the scales.

Winner, from peg 10, was Andy Wilson with 5lb 15oz of roach and perch. Andy fished the pole and switched between chopped worm and pinkie on the hook. Second place was shared by Jason Wilmer and Mel Saggers with 4lb 9oz.

Next week’s match will be on the club’s own stretch of the River Nene at Wansford. Any members wishing to fish should call Carl Fisher 07734 583567 or Andy Wilson 07787 352762.
