Bourne were held to their first draw of the season at Cogenhoe.
Bourne started strongly in the blustery conditions but their keeper Dan Jarman also had to handle well.
Bourne broke the deadlock on 19 minutes when Tom Cardall won the ball just i
nside his own half and went on a run down the left touchline.
His accurate cross was met by Glen Spearink, who stabbed the ball home.
The home side countered and five minutes before half time Bourne gave away the ball in midfield and from the resulting pass, Liam Knight outpaced the visitors defence to equalise.
In the second half there was good goalkeeping and excellent defending from both teams.
Bourne's defending was good with Matt Ayliff having his best game for club so far and of all people Darren Munton putting in some juicy challenges.
Tom Cardall was still causing problems down the left constantly leaving the home defence trailing in his wake.
Spearink, Darren Munton and Benni Schiavi all had good efforts well saved and the ever improving and confident Jarman was keeping the home side at bay.
In the end a draw was a good result and both teams were congratulated by the referee for an incident free and entertaining game.
Player/manager Munton was pleased with the all round effort put in by the whole squad and is eagerly looking forward to tommorow's game with unbeaten Stewart and Lloyds at Abbey Lawn (3pm).
Bourne: Jarman, Walkin (Tambourini), Cardall, Munton, Butler, Ayliff, Mason, G Staffieri, A Graves, G Spearink, B Schiavi (T Younghusband).
