Bourne Town Juniors FC held their presentation evenings at the weekend to recognise the exceptional efforts of more than 250 children.
The event covered age groups from under 6’s to under 17’s (boys and girls teams) and among the most succesful durig the 2008/09 season was the under 10 Reds side, who celebrated an exceptional season.
The Reds missed out on 3rd position in the Peterborough Junior Alliance League on goal difference winning 11 of their 18 games.
Manager Steve Bills said: “The most pleasing aspect of the season is that they only conceded 16 goals, which was the best defensive record in the league shared with Baston and Spalding who finished 1st and 2nd in the league. Also, they won the Blackstones tournament and finished runners up in their own.”
In preparation for moving to 11 a side next season the Reds are looking to expand their squad.
