Well, it’s nearly here. Have you got all those presents, or are you still searching for that special something? If so, why not visit Magpies Nest, you never know what you will find here. A treasure trove of crafts, all handmade lovingly by local, talented people. A selection of collectable bygones, to add to a loved ones collection.

We have handmade cards for every occasion, never duplicated and made by ‘With Love......’ a mother and daughter team, along with E M Crafts in a different style. Sylvia K from Deeping St James produces some beautiful hand painted glass, and will make items to order. So why not say ‘Cheers’ to Christmas out of a unique hand painted set of wine goblets.

How about a piece of wood lovingly carved and crafted into stools, rocking horses, clocks, lamps and tables, by one of our very talented woodworkers, Cliff Moore from Langtoft or Dave Leigh from Greatford.

We have several jewellery makers, all with different style and flair, Saben Designs from Bourne, Jewels by Jules Renner from Toft, and a recent newcomer, L Jays Jewels from Kirkby Underwood.

We also welcome newcomers, From Time to Time, from Holbeach who produce some unusual pieces.

Pippins Patchwork is very popular with ladies who quilt and patchwork, and has a range of fabric and made up items for sale. Also with household soft furnishings, personalised Santa Sacks, cat and dog doorstops, are Stuart and Shirley of S&S Crafts from Spalding.

Bees Knees and Decked Halls have lovely Christmas decorations, made as keepsakes for this special time of year.

Blossom in the Wind has ‘blossoms galore’.

Patches, a husband and wife team from Peterborough have some witty and funny sayings on door plaques and other wooden items, and their daughter makes it a family affair with Cardz and Giftz 4 U.

The Nightingales add to our bird theme as a husband and wife team from Bourne who have some unusual gifts, including Life Survival Kits, Calming Buttons and personalised items a speciality.

L&N Crafts are Lorna and Norma who have an inspiring array of gifts .

They are showcasing some items made by Phoebe Kirtland who is in year 10 at Bourne Academy and is raising money for the cost of her transport and equipment when she travels to Ecquador in 2015. There she will be helping to make improvements to family life and preserve wildlife.
