The Rotary Club of Bourne will be holding its 22nd Annual Young Musician Competition on Sunday 18th January 2015 at the Bourne Academy, Edinburgh Crescent, commencing at 10.30am.

The competition is part of the RIBI Young Musician and Gold awardees will be entered in the District competition. Previous Bourne winning entrants, including Choirs, Rock Bands, pianists and saxophonists have been successful at the higher levels of the competition.

There are three age groups, Junior, (6 – 10 years) Intermediate (11 - 13 years) and Senior (14 - 17 years), ages as at 31st August 2012; and six categories in each age group, Solo voice, Solo Instrument, Ensemble voice (2 – 4 people), Ensemble Instrumental, Choir and Group (5+ people).

All types of instrument and musical genre are permitted, and the competition is not allied to ‘Grade pieces’, all competitors have a free choice for their performance.

The overall winner and Rotary Club of Bourne Young Musician of the Year will receive the Silverwood Trophy which is in memory of the late Rotarian Mike Silverwood.
