The residents and staff at Qu’Appelle Care Home had a fun filled day on Easter Monday.

We started the afternoon with an Easter egg hunt, residents had decorated many eggs on a previous day. The egg hunt caused many laughs as residents were only to find one each at first but in all the enthusiasm one of the residents found seven eggs in the first couple of minutes and staff had to rush round and replace them as quickly as possible.

David Bridges was the lucky resident to find the golden egg, winning a large easter egg, and all the residents in the home received a nice egg.

We rounded the afternoon off on a high. There were eggs, chicks and rabbits falling out of the easter bonnets (not real of course) but in the end Betty Fels won the Easter bonnet competion. Thank you to Ida Barnes for being one of our judges.

Much amusement and hilarity was had in the evening, friends and family were invited to join the residents for an italian themed quiz evening. Very big thanks has to go to Angela Bycraft, the Italian food was wonderful. To add to a great evening we raised £296.

This will be going towards an iPad for one to one work with residents with dementia. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a great day from all at Qu’Appelle.
