Bourne Motor Racing Club are delighted to be able to welcome Former McLaren Team Manager Alastair Caldwell as their guest speaker in January.

Alastair’s childhood was spent in New Zealand, evading the police after illegal street races and skipping school to play pool and work on cars.

In 1967 Alastair returned to England, taking a job as cleaner at McLaren.

He soon secured a Mechanics role, and stayed on, working his way up to become Team Manager and the boss of racing legends such as Nelson Piquet and James Hunt.

Alastair has more recently been an advisor to the makers of the newly released film “Rush”, also taking a cameo role in the film.

The talk takes place
on Thursday January 9th at the Bourne Corn Exchange Hall, commencing at 8.00 pm.

Non members are always welcome with a £3.00 entrance fee payable on the door.

Following on from this talk, the Club are set to welcome former Hot Rod and Truck Racing Champion Barry Lee at their February meeting (Thursday
13th February).

Tickets for this evening cost £ 5.00 each and are available by e-mailing tickets@bournemotorclub.co.uk.
