Children always enjoy sharing their learning and experiences with others, so being able to take groups of children to Worth Court and work with the residents is a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding task for all involved. Seeing the enthusiasm of the children teaching the residents about aspects of their education and then allowing residents to join in with activities is what community cohesion is all about.

So far this year, Bourne Abbey has made three visits to Worth Court: Firstly by taking a group of year 3 children to share their Indian Experience and create stunning Rangoli patterns; Secondly children from years 3 through to 6 ignited the Christmas creativity of the residents by decorating festive biscuits, a gingerbread house, decorative wreaths and making snow globes; and finally serenaded them with a Christmas Carol Concert starring the Bourne Abbey Academy Choir and Recorder group.

These activities are only just the beginning for this academic year and we look forward to many more visits throughout 2014.
