Scores of people brought heirlooms and trinkets to be valued in the hope they might be worth a fortune.

An antiques valuation day was held at The Croft in North Street, Bourne, on Saturday last week.

Valuers from Stamford firm Batemans were on hand to take a look at the items people brought with them.

A spokesman for The Croft said: “The recent antiques valuation day, like previous similar events, was a great success. We had over 50 people who wanted to get a particular piece valued, or simply learn more about antiques attend over the course of the day.”

“There was a great atmosphere and the Manor House was buzzing with visitors.

“Residents at The Croft provided delicious cakes and treats for visitors to enjoy too. The weather was lovely as well, which really was the finishing touch to the whole day. We will undoubtedly start planning our next antiques valuation day very soon!”
