Work to replace gas pipes near a busy level crossing have been completed ahead of schedule.
National Grid began a programme of repairs on the main road at Tallington on November 25.
The work was initially expected to last until Sunday, but engineers managed to finish ahead of time on Saturday.
Last week a National Grid spokesman said: “Essential work to keep gas flowing to homes and businesses in Tallington for decades will be finished a week ahead of schedue.
Villagers had criticised the company for failing to consult or give sufficient notice before work started.
