Stamford Meadows was awash with hundreds of four-legged friends who strutted their stuff for the town’s annual Dog Show.
The event, organised by the Stamford Methodist Church and two main sponsors Pets Korner and the Stamford Veterinary Centre, had 280 entries. With demonstrations from Malamutes, Huskies and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, the show has been hailed “the best ever” by organisers.
Alpacas, a new attraction, and a reptile tent proved a favourite with children.
Winners were: Best in Show prize, Hannah from St Neots with Coda the Dalmation; Best in Show, Di from Thorney with Izzy the English SpringerSpaniel; Best Novelty in show Tanya from Stamford with Frodo, a Corgi Bulgarian Cross; and reserve Best Novelty, Nicola from Bourne with Charlie Brown a Cross breed.
The £2,650 raised at the show for churches charities will go to Glavanitsa Orphanage for disabled teenagers in Bulgaria, Stamford and District Carers Sitter Service and Stamford Methodist Church’s youth outreach work.
