A record number of people joined together to celebrate one of Bourne’s most loved events this weekend, and the sunshine also made a welcome appearance.
This year’s Bourne Classic Car and Bike Show was a particularly momentous occasion, marking the 10th and final event organised by Bourne Motor Racing Club.
Vintage motor enthusiasts were in their element at the annual event, held on Sunday at the Wellhead Field in Bourne.
More than 350 vehicles were on display at the popular event, attracting hundreds of people from across Bourne for a great family day out.
Organiser, Richard Bostock from Bourne Motor Racing Club said: “It was one of the best events we’ve ever had, the crowds stayed until the bitter end.
“We were absolutely delighted with the weather, which enabled us to deliver a great show. It’s always a great atmosphere and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves.”
Highlights of the day included the ever popular Punch and Judy Show which entertained the children throughout the day, along with a variety of live music to entertain the crowds.
To close the momentous day, a special flypast by the iconic Battle of Britain Memorial Flight thrilled spectators, and brought emotions to the fore for organisers.
Richard said: “I must say I did get slightly emotional when the Spitfire flew over at the end. I’m particularly pleased the event ended on such a great high, the sun was shining and the atmosphere was once again electric.”
