Phil Wilson, 64, of Sandygate Close, Horbling, took part in a 10k race in Billingborough earlier this year.

On Monday he took a cheque for £1,330 collected through sponsorship to the Cancer Research UK in Bourne. He is pictured above with dog Jackson, shop manager Naomi Caddell and volunteers Doreen Edwards, Janet Corey-Mills and Sandra Howes. Phil said: “Since my last run in 2008 too many friends and people I know round the village have died of cancer. They were a lot younger than me. It’s a tribute to their memory.”
