A publishing company has handed over £15,000 its employees raised to two charities working in the Bourne area.

Warners in Manor Lane, Bourne had a record fundraising year in 2012 and on Thursday two cheques for £7,500 were presented to Anna’s Hope and the Bourne branch of the Red Cross.

Spokesman for Warners’ sport and social club Michele Allen-Moy said: “The amount raised reflects the success and the generosity of our employees.”

“We are very proud to support Anna’s Hope, some of our employees have previously raised funds for them, and we felt that it was an incredible local charity.

“As a company we have received help from the Bourne Red Cross at many of our events and we wanted to give something back.”

Employees at Warners raised the money by holding a car wash, quiz night, a visit from Santa, fashion evening and two men, Martin Harris and Andy York, completed a 150 mile walk on the Thames Path.

Anna’s Hope founder Carole Hughes said: “We would like to thank the charity committee and are grateful to everyone at Warners Group for all their hard work in raising such a fantastic amount.”

Red Cross central organiser Trevor Hollinshead said: “We are incredibly grateful for the efforts of the people from Warners.

“It has been a tremendous effort.
