Man died and three injured in three-car collision at Toft

A MAN died following a three-car crash on the A6121 near Toft on Saturday.

Terence Wheeler, 68, of Playford Close, Rothwell, Kettering, was driving a blue Hyundai, which was involved in the accident with a black Ford Fiesta and a green Volkswagen Golf at about 2.30pm.

He was taken to Peterborough District Hospital where he later died.

A 14-year-old girl passenger of the Hyundai was airlifted to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment. A 62-year-old woman from the Hyundai and the 17-year-old male driver of the Fiesta from Thurlby, were also taken to Peterborough District Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen, from Bourne, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has been bailed pending further inquiries until Wednesday, July 14.
