A CEMETERY which has been extended was formally blessed during a ceremony.

The Bishop of Grantham, the Rt Rev Dr Timothy Ellis, led the ceremony at Langtoft Cemetery on Wednesday last week.

The Rev Martin Brebner and Rev Michael Howard were also there, along with members of Langtoft Parish Council.

During the ceremony, the Bishop of Grantham blessed the area to be consecrated and there were also readings, followed by refreshments in the church.

The parish council maintains the cemetery and clerk Steina Bishop said the extra land would extend the life of the cemetery for 10 years as well as providing a memorial garden.

She said: “We weren’t running out of space but this enables us to extend the life of the cemetery.”
