Forums held by the council to be replaced by drop-in sessions

INFORMAL drop-in sessions on council priorities are set to be held in Bourne and the Deepings.

South Kesteven District Council is holding the sessions, instead of local forums. The forums were dropped after a review found that people found them too formal.

There will be sessions at Bourne Corn Exchange on Monday, January 23, and at Deepings Community Centre on Tuesday, January 24. All the sessions will run from 4pm until 7pm.

These sessions will focus on the council’s projects, priorities and spending plans for 2012 and 2013. There will be sessions later in the year focusing on other areas.

Portfolio holder for engagement and corporate services Coun Paul Carpenter (Con) said: “Residents and parish councils told us they would prefer an alternative format to local forums.”
