Farming group to join Defra’s new Rural and Farming Network

A LINCOLNSHIRE food and farming organisation will be able to identify and feed back concerns to the heart of Government after being selected to join an exclusive new industry network.

The Lincolnshire Forum for Agriculture and Horticulture is one of 14 groups across the country to have been invited to join Defra’s new Rural and Farming Network, set up to shape rural policies.

The forum’s membership will guarantee easier access to Government ministers, with at least one meeting a year, and gives the county a voice a national level.

Chairman of the forum Mark Tinsley said: “Agriculture is the foundation of the county economy and membership of this network will help us take our food and farming sectors from strength to strength.

“Only a handful of organisations have been chosen for this, making it a great advantage for the county.”
