Families hit the snow slopes in Bourne

SNOWY scenes across the county on Sunday created the perfect opportunity for families to get out in the fresh air.

Children and adults in Bourne spent a happy day building snow structures, sledging and throwing snowballs.

Lincolnshire County Council say the snow fall caught many drivers unaware.

More than five inches of snow fell in just a few hours on Saturday night causing a number of minor accidents.

More snow is forecast for today and drivers are asked to be cautious.

Police are also asking that parents keep an eye on children at all times.

Lincolnshire Police spokesman James Newall said: “Unfortunately we have had some reports of children throwing snow balls at the houses of pensioners.

“What might seem like innocent fun can be very intimidating for others.

“We ask that parents keep an eye on their children and teach them what is acceptable behaviour and what isn’t when it comes to snow ball fights.”
