Election results

Results are in for the elections at South Kesteven District Council.

Conservatives have kept control of the council with 35 of the 58 seats on the council.

Labour have lost five seats, leaving them with two, and the Liberal Democrats gained a seat taking their total to six.

Independent and New Independent candidates made up the remaining 15 seats.

There was a five per cent increase in turnout, with 34.55 per cent of those eligible voting.

Independent Angeline Percival has lost her Glen Eden seat to Conservative Maureen Spencer-Gregson who gained 420 votes, a majority of 31.

Cabinet member Terl Bryant has lost his seat on the Stamford All Saints ward, where there are two seats. The results were:

Susan Sandall (ind) 639 votes

Sam Jalili (LD) 533 votes

David Brailsford (Con)346 votes

Terl Bryant (Con) 346votes

Leader of the Labour group on SKDC John Hurst has lost his seat on the Grantham St Johns ward by 10 votes. The seats went to Stuart Farrar (Con) with 348 and Ben Newcombe-Jones (Con) with 289.
