Dustman wins trolley dash in Bourne supermarket
Co-op Bourne Trolly dash winner Gary Hughes
A DUSTMAN grabbed more than £200 worth of shopping in a supermarket trolley dash.
Gary Hughes, 35, of Fen Road, Dowsby, won a two-minute dash around the Bourne Anglia Co-operative store in a competition run by The Local.
Mr Hughes grabbed more than £200 worth of goods at the Burghley Centre store on Sunday morning.
Father-of-two Gary, who works as a dustman in Peterborough, said: “My wife Tressa usually does all the shopping but she told me to do the dash.
“The two minutes seemed to go so quick. I was under instructions to get things like washing powder, but it was a case of grabbing what I could as I went round the aisles.
“It was thoroughly enjoyable and I was really, really pleased with my final total.”
Gary almost filled two trollies with his shopping, running up a final bill of £210.48p. Store manager Gavin Price said: “Gary did really well. That’s an impressive total for just two minutes’ shopping.”
