Church coffee morning raises cash in Bourne
A CHURCH began its fundraising year with a coffee morning.
Bourne Abbey Church Hall was filled with parishioners on Saturday morning enjoying hot drinks and bacon baps.
Alongside the refreshments were a book stall and bric-a-brac. In total the morning raised £275 towards church funds.
Chairman of the church’s social committee, Judy Smith, said: “The morning went very well. A nice number of people came and it was very well supported.”
Last year the social committee donated £6,500 to the church. Plenty of events are already planned for this year, including a pancake day on February 18 and whist drives every fourth Thursday of the month.
