Celebrate the Best in Bourne
DO you have a favourite shop, business or organisation in Bourne where you know service is second to none?
Today The Local is launching our Best in Bourne awards to find the firms that are offering the best customer service in the area – and we want readers to put forward your nominations.
After the recession, it's become even more important to use local businesses and we know Bourne is full of people determined to give their customers unrivalled service and goods.
You can nominate anyone who you feel deserves recognition for going that extra mile.
It could be the check-out assistants in your local supermarket, your hairdresser or the man who came to fix your washing machine.
How about your local garage, vets or gardening centre? And we must not forget all those who work at Bourne's pubs and restaurants which serve locals and tourists alike.
The Local editor Eileen Green said: "If you visit somewhere and are greeted with a smile, it immediately makes you feel good.
"Let's help sing the praises of the area's business community."
Vice-chairman of Bourne Business Chamber Paul Ross. 43, is backing the competition.
He said; "I think it is a great idea as it will recognise the quality businesses in Bourne.
"This will be an excellent promotion and should encourage more initiative and recognise the people who are going the extra mile."
The Local will feature every nomination over the next few weeks and readers can vote for their favourites at the end of August to draw up three finalists, with the winner announced in September.
Everyone nominated will receive a certificate to display.
You can find your nomination form in The Local. Please fill it in and send it in to us at the Local office in 28A West Street, Bourne, PE10 9NE.
We know that service in Bourne is excellent, so why not join us in celebrating that fact?
