Budding actors enjoy tv classes

YOUNGSTERS are having fun at television drama classes in Bourne thanks to a professional director and actor.

Award-winning Martin Tempest is running sessions for children aged eight to 11 and 11 to 15 at Bourne Corn Exchange. This gives young people the chance to devise scripts, rehearse scenes and then perform and be filmed in front of a live television audience at the end of the term.

Martin, who is the director of film production company Image Productions, said there are still places available if anyone is interested. He said: "We wanted to bring something new to Bourne. I know there are other drama groups in the town, but this one is quite unique. The children are really enjoying it.

"We rehearse for about four to five episodes which will then be filmed at the end of term. Each episode will go on the internet."

Martin started his career at the age of 13 when he attended the Italia Conti Stage School in London and went on to carve a successful career as a film and television actor. Classes are on Thursdays. Sessions for the older age group will focus on the next instalment of the television drama which was devised in the autumn last year. There is also a drama session for younger children aged four to seven on the same day. This focuses on fun and games. To find out more call 01780 763203.
