Safer in town than in a city

DOES Bourne really need street wardens?

The town's community has a good working relationship with the police community support officers and the police.

It also has CCTV through the shopwatch scheme, Neighbourhood Watch and of course concerned members of the public who contact the police about occasional suspicious visitors, rogue traders etc.

It is okay charging 39p per house but some streets have 50 houses in them.

Inspector Stewart is right, we don't need private security. This is rural Bourne, not central London.

Bourne is renowned for being friendly and a good community. Keep your private security for the cities.

A lot of people feel safer walking through town late at night than they would in a city.
