Letter: Why not means test our pension?

Here we go again with politicians pushing for a cut for pensioners with their winter fuel allowance on a means test but what next, means test on our actual pension?

While this is going on, the same politicians are filling their own pension pots at the expense of the public purse but there is no mention of our politicians taking a cut.

We are told: Don’t worry the money saved will go into care for the elderly and the pig that just flew past your window will be landing in some politician’s moat and parked in the duck house hanger.

And let’s not forget that it is the bankers who started this and the politicians who compounded it by putting our money in unlimited amounts into the financial drain for the benefit of the money people so they can keep paying their bonuses while the people that end up paying for their greed is you and I.
