Letter: Here to serve
This week I had the huge privilege of being sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Grantham and Stamford.
I would like to thank the people who supported me in the election and voted to send a Conservative to represent them in the House of Commons.
It is a huge privilege to be elected to Parliament at this important and exciting time.
I recognise that many people were appalled by the behaviour of some MPs in the last Parliament and that my election is just the start of a long process of proving to everyone in Bourne and the rest of south-west Lincolnshire that I deserve the trust you have put in me. I want to be a representative for everyone who lives here, not just those who voted for me.
And I know that I have much to learn from the other candidates in this election, in particular Mark Bartlett's commitment to justice for working people, Harish Bishnausthing's passion for preserving Stamford, and from Mark Horn's defence of all things unique to Lincolnshire.
I do not promise to get everything right. But I promise to listen to you, to level with you and never to stop fighting your corner.
