Christmas cards on sale for good reason
I AM writing in reply to Mr West's letter in The Local last week.
I work in the shop he mentioned and can assure him our little stockroom cannot hold all the goods so it is not a pathetic answer.
The Christmas cards which Mr West mentioned were right at the back of the shop in the far corner.
They could not have been seen unless you went that way.
Card companies deliver their Christmas cards in August and the beginning of September.
If we waited any later our choice would be nil.
Maybe Mr West should go to the big food stores and see their displays of Christmas food already on the shelves.
We work very hard to keep our customers happy and try to give them the best possible service.

IN response to comments made by Mr West in last week's issue of The Local, if he had looked closely at the cards he would have noticed that the only ones I had on display at the end of August were charity Christmas cards.
It is common practice that many businesses including my own begin to display Christmas cards at the end of August.
I pride myself on displaying charity Christmas cards at the earliest opportunity to maximise the sale for such valuable causes.
Am I jumping on the band wagon? yes I am, running a business and trying to give a little to charity.
