Bourne is now a ghost town
I HAVE been living in Bourne for 84 years. All this talk about a town centre makes my blood boil.
Why did they take the stalls off the street, they could have left them all each side of North Street and closed the road like they do at Stamford on Market Day. It would be no problem.
We have so many roads round the town. Cherry Holt Road onto Spalding Road, the new bypass on to West Road to Beech Avenue, Exeter Street all join North Street at the bus station. What a waste of money.
It will never be a town centre, it is all talk. My father had a butcher's shop in North Street but now so many shops have closed.
Bourne is a ghost town.
It needs some life putting back into the streets. I agree with what Mr Bladon wrote in The Local.
