Access for disabled must be improved
I WAS passing Boots in West Street, Bourne, and noticed a disabled lady jammed between the two doors.
She could neither go forward or back because the doors are so heavy. There is not even a ramp step for chair access. This is a dispensing chemist!
Given there is a call button for help, but why should the disabled people have to wait for someone to let them in or out? They like to do what they can for themselves and good job if it isn't pouring while they wait.
I suppose it is just the same for mums with pushchairs and even worse for someone having to push a wheelchair with someone sitting in it.
There are a number of shops in Bourne which have acknowledged access for the disabled. This being so, there is no case for multinationals in particular not to be helpful.
