One of the area’s most popular live bands will bring fast-paced rock and roll to a Stamford stage this weekend.

The Houndogs play at The Voodoo Lounge tomorrow night, with support from Son of Gun.

The Houndogs are a young, energetic band of three brothers who have been performing professionally for more than 10 years. During that time Robert, Ian and David Wilson have built up an impressive following and fanbase.

The brothers were born into a music-loving household, with their mother a pianist and father a guitarist. The boys were surrounded by the sounds of early Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, and Gene Vincent, and those songs went on to inspire their future talents.

All three picked up their instruments at a young age, learning basic chords and rhythms. But it was only when they saw a video of The Stray Cats playing live that they decided to form a band.

The Houndogs soon refined their style and became a popular act across the region.

They have a wide experience playing at weddings, festivals and clubs, not only in the UK but in France, Germany and beyond. They have supported Lee Rocker of The Stray Cats and played at many prestigious venues.

Their shows are captivating and fun, and the chemistry between the boys on stage makes for a performance like no other. Their mix of classic rockabilly and rock and roll hits, mixed with their own original material, always fills the dance floor.

But the Houndogs music is not just for fans of classic rock and roll. All shapes and sizes can enjoy watching what is not just a music concert but an enthralling show.

Support on the night will come from Son of Gun, a three piece based in the Stamford and Holbeach area.

The band describe their style as “sexy rock”, combining rock, punk and rockabilly to deliver fast riffs and energetic rhythms.

Doors open at 8.30pm. Tickets are £8 in advance from www.wegottickets.com, or £10 on the night.
