Healthy walking groups set up in Bourne and Haconby

HEALTH walks are being led in the Bourne area to help get people involved in physical activity.

Lincolnshire Sports Partnership has trained volunteers who lead free short walks to include everybody, regardless of ability, in a friendly and sociable environment, in and around the town and countryside.

There are currently walk groups in Bourne and Haconby which meet and walk weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Sarah Ferneyhough, physical activity manager at the partnership, said these walks are becoming increasingly popular with almost 3,000 people in Lincolnshire now regularly attending them.

She added: “They are one of the cheapest and easiest ways to improve your health, and are a great way to meet new people and have fun.”

Health Walks are funded by NHS Lincolnshire which means that they are free to attend. The majority of walks are between 45 minutes and one hour 20 minutes.
