A charity event at a gym in Bourne raised more than £1,000 at the weekend for two worthwhile causes.
The Universal Fitness Centre in Cherry Holt Road, Bourne, held a charity spinathon and class marathon at the weekend on behalf of two of its members, Jodie Mitchell and John Kimbrey.
Both members will be taking on separate treks to raise money for their chosen charities, Help the Heroes and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
On Saturday the fitness centre held a spinathon involving six spin classes back to back and on Sunday a class marathon took place involving six high adrenaline classes including: step aerobics, tabata, fitsteps, kettlebell, boxercise and insanity.
Over 100 people attended the event across the weekend and although the minimum donation was only £10 per person, a number of people came along with donations of over £100.
Owner of the Universal Fitness Centre, Harvey Taylor said: “It was an absolutely fantastic weekend, we still have lots of donations to come in and yet we’ve already raised over £1,000!
“It was a great atmosphere and it was good fun overall.”
People of all ages attended the charity event, along with member John Kimbrey who joined in with the spin classes on Saturday.
