A pumpkin carving competition will take place in Market Deeping tomorrow (Saturday, October 31) for the first time.

The competition, which has been organised by district and parish councillor Judy Stevens, will take place at Swines Meadow Farm Nursery in Towngate East, Market Deeping.

All pumpkins should be taken to the nursery by midday on Saturday when judging will take place.

Pumpkins can be viewed from 1.30pm until 3pm.

Proceeds from the competition will go towards Zack’s Mission, which was set up by Alana Exton, of Market Deeping, in memory of her son and to raise funds and awareness of Asthma UK.

The competition will be judged by darts player Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams, who will be giving the prizes alongside Coun Linda Wootten, Daphne Ledward and Jean Shaw.

Braeburn Lodge has kindly sponsored the over 65s’ class and Make it Yours have sponsored the children’s classes.
