Footwear retailer, North Shoes is celebrating after scooping its fourth national accolade.

The family run firm, which has stores in both Stamford and Bourne, was named men’s independent footwear retailer of the year in the prestigious 2016 footwear Industry Awards – maintaining a remarkable run of success since the awards were launched in 2012.

In that time they have now twice been named men’s independent footwear retailer of the year, as well as winning the independent family retailer of the year and ladies independent retailer of the year crowns.

This year was a record-breaker for the awards, with more entries and nominations made than ever before.

Event director, Paul Ryder, said: “These awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the UK’s most outstanding retailers for ensuring that the end user, the consumer, gets the service, quality, style and functionality they expect - congratulations to North Shoes for joining the ranks as a Footwear Industry Awards 2016 winner.”

Managing director James North, the fifth generation at the head of the family shoe firm, collected the trophy during a glittering ceremony at the National Conference Centre in Solihull.

He said: “It’s fantastic to get public and industry recognition for our traditional fitting service and quality brands and it means so much that the hard work of everyone at our four stores has been acknowledged at such a prestigious level.”
