The streets of Bourne were packed full this weekend, as thousands of people from across the area turned out in the sunshine to enjoy the carnival atmosphere.
It was yet another successful year for the team at Bourne Community Events who organised this year’s Bourne Summer Carnival on Sunday, with record numbers enjoying the annual event in the heart of Bourne’s town centre.
Organiser, Claire Saberton from Bourne Community Events said: “It was a fabulous event, the weather was really good to us - it was brilliant.”
Highlights of the day included plenty of street entertainment including a penny-farthing cyclist, fairground rides for the children to enjoy, meet and greet with Cinderella and Peppa Pig and the many local stalls on show throughout the day selling tasty treats and handmade crafts and gifts.
There was also an array of local talent on the main stage, entertaining the crowds with a fantastic show of live music.
For children there was a chance to dress up as princesses and pirates as part of a fancy dress competition, along with the opportunity to take part in an exciting treasure hunt around the town.
One of the popular events at the carnival was the 10-lane Scalextric track which had been set up in the Corn Exchange in Abbey Road, with the chance for visitors to win Donnington Park race meeting tickets, as well as Donnington Park Grand Prix Collection tickets with The Derby HQ Racing Club.
Bourne Community Events will now be looking towards organising its next big event - Bourne’s Magical Christmas Fayre. For details on how to get involved and for more information about the group visit the website.
