In our assembly on Monday we remembered and gave thanks for the life of Nelson Mandela. He is believed by many people all over the world to be one of the great men of history. He suffered much to bring hope and freedom from inequality and oppression to his own people and many more besides.
He was a great example to us all in learning how to show forgiveness and he never gave up on peace. Bourne Abbey is a UNICEF school and we do understand very clearly the many rights he tried to make happen for children and adults not only in his own country but all over the world. It is said that his gentle hands touched the world.
