Our Reception children have been learning about animals this term.

They have been comparing the similarities and differences between a variety of wild animals.

At the beginning of March the children enjoyed a fantastic day out to Hamerton Zoo Park to enhance their learning.

We were very lucky with the weather and the sun shone all day and the children loved exploring the vast park.

There are a wide variety of animals at the zoo and the children enjoyed spotting a variety of birds using their bird checklist.

They were amazed at how the flamingos can balance so well on one leg and how tall cranes are.

The children all agreed that their top three favourite animals were meerkats, tigers and marmosets.
