We were blessed with wonderful weather for our annual residential trip to P.G.L. Caythorpe.

On the way we visited RAF Cranwell where we learned to march with the Sergeant Major. The children were fascinated to be allowed to climb into the cockpit of an aeroplane and look at the amazing fire and rescue vehicles.

Dog handling was incredible, the super dogs could pick out weapons, explosives and other dangerous chemicals. We learned that they are a very valuable tool for the RAF to use so the dogs are often called out and used to help the police.

Once we arrived at Caythorpe it was non-stop adventure! The children experienced quad bikes, aeroball, high ropes, trapeze, giant swing, abseiling, fencing and survivor. The food was delicious and the accommodation excellent. The children tried out many new activities and gained confidence by achieving new skills.

Independence and personal organisation was also tested and the group rose to the occasion superbly. Mr Revell thoroughly enjoyed his first residential and can’t wait to go on another! Mrs Keeffe, group leader said it was the best residential she had been involved with. “The children were exemplary and had a wonderful experience!”
