Morton Pre-school has been rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.
Government inspectors looked at how well it met the needs of the 18 three and four year olds, how it contributed to their well-being and how effective the leadership and management were at the preschool in Glebe Farm, High Street, Morton.
Their conclusions included that the children were “highly motivated and engage eagerly in learning” and demonstrated “high levels of self-esteem and security” while at the premises.
The report also said teachers were highly skilled in maximising every opportunity for learning, helping children to develop rapidly as a result, the strategies used to engage parents were “highly successful” and the system for involving staff and parents to identify priorities for improvement was “robust.”
Manager Tina Barnatt said: “We are all pleased and proud to be awarded ‘outstanding in all areas’ and feel this accurately reflects our setting, with a team who recognise how to make learning interesting and exciting for children in their pre-school years”
To improve further Ofsted inspectors suggested the preschool should build on the already outstanding practice in mathematics by providing children with “further opportunities to talk about size, weight and capacity, to compare quantities through everyday experiences, such as cooking.”
