Wow! What a relief, the weather stayed fine all day for Sport Relief!
Whilst television personalities were climbing sheer rock faces and trying to set Guiness World Records ‘Bog Snorkling’, pupils at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy were setting records of their own and being very imaginative in the process.
Each class from Year 1 to Year 6 planned and then executed their own ideas for completing a ‘class mile’ for Sports Relief.
Some children ran backwards, some skipped and even crawled their way around the sports field.
Others really pushed themselves by cartwheeling and forward rolling – all with a smile on their faces. Even the adults joined in the fun!
Children came to school in their favourite sports kit, raising an amazing £570 in the process.
It was a great effort by all concerned and for a very worthwhile cause.
Joe Manning, Alex Galpin and Dan Galpin, pupils from Bourne Westfield, completed a sponsored cycle ride in aid of Sport Relief, riding from Greatford, around Rutland Water and back to Greatford raising an amazing £172 – well done boys!
