Bourne Westfield Primary Academy entered three teams in the 25th Langtoft School Teams Challenge on Sunday 4th May. In addition to the three teams, several Westfield pupils took part in the fun element of the competition on an individual basis.

Jamie Middleton, aged seven, ran alongside his dad whilst his elder brother Tom competed for Westfield ‘A’ team and Roman Everist ran for Bourne Town Harriers alongside his brother Cameron, an ex-Westfield pupil, who won the Fun Run.

The weather was fantastic with the sun shining and very little breeze, perhaps slightly better conditions for the large contingent of spectators than the runners themselves! The whole event ran extremely smoothly and the atmosphere was amazing with all of the runners being cheered on from start to finish.

All three Westfield teams performed fantastically well with the ‘A’ team winning the Schools Challenge just ahead of Peakirk cum Glinton Primary School from Peterborough. First past the post for Westfield was Alex Galpin, closely followed by Tom Middleton and Alex Sinfield. Bourne Westfield ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams came third and sixth respectively.

The Westfield runners were Alex Galpin, Tom Middleton, Alex Sinfield, Joshy Astley, Ryan Cirino, Charlie Merricks, Max Moore, Oliver Philips, George Johnstone, Dan Galpin, Abigail Glover, Anna Paskin, Tilly Manning, Elara Kirtland and Phoebe Smith.
