Two teams of girls and boys from Year 5 and 6 recently attended the South East Lincolnshire football tournament. The event was held at Spalding High School on the 28th November.

Our A team were unbeaten and won their group with fantastic goals from Casey Machin and Bobby Clark. Our goalkeeper, Alfie Bennett also played brilliantly, conceding no goals during the group stages. Unfortunately, when compared to the winners of the other groups they lost out to a top 3 place on their goal difference.

The A team finally finished in overall 5th place out of the 16 schools taking part.

The B team worked superbly as a team and displayed some fine sportsmanship. Bryn Tierney was outstanding and scored some super goals. Unfortunately they let in some early goals and lost their first few games. As the tournament progressed they began to play more fluent football. Overall, the B team finished in joint 13th place.

We all really enjoyed the tournament and wish to say a great big thank you to those who organised it and congratulations to the winners of the competition.
