Last week, Year 2 children at Bourne Westfield began a project to create an island home habitat in an outdoor woodland area on the school site.
Over two days, all the children created their own clay Boggit characters and constructed a small home for them using natural materials.
The second day saw the construction of full sized tepees, again using natural materials such as willow and ivy. The children constructed willow fencing and archways and had a go at some lashing to create natural picture frames.
Head of Year 2 Rachel Green commented: “The children were completely engrossed in their construction. We are looking forward to further opportunities for outdoor learning and Forest School involvement at Bourne Westfield next year.”
