Following their convincing win at the Lincolnshire South East football competition in November, Bourne Abbey C of E Primary Academy’s girl’s football team recently competed in the county final in Sleaford.

The girls arrived bright and early on a chilly Saturday morning and made a superb start, winning their first game.

They demonstrated their high level of football skills as the competition proceeded and deservedly reached the final where they played Saxilby School.

This was a hard fought match against an extremely experienced team.

Bourne Abbey attacked and defended courageously but could not hold out against their very skilful opposition. The girls are immensely proud to have been placed second in the whole county - a fantastic achievement.
