Bourne Abbey Primary Academy recently took 30 of our year 6 children to take part in a kwik cricket competition at the fantastic facility - Abbey Lawns in Bourne.

For those of you who don’t know much about the game, kwik cricket is a fast and fun version of normal cricket. The children work in pairs to score as many runs as possible in the 12 balls that are bowled to them. However they have to be careful, every time one of them is out they lose 5 runs off their score!

Our teams had a brilliant day and demonstrated some fantastic cricket skills both with the bat and when fielding. Eight teams from the local primary schools took part in the competition. Our A team narrowly missed a win and finished in runner-up position after a very close final match. Our C team finished overall in 6th place, our B team finished in 4th place.

A huge well done to all those children who took part and congratulations to Edenham C of E Primary School for winning overall.

Many thanks to James Shaw from Edenham Primary School for organising such a worthwhile and very enjoyable event!
