Bourne Academy gives archive to heritage centre

SCHOOL items dating back to the 1800s have been donated to Bourne Heritage Centre.

Bourne Academy, in Edinburgh Crescent, Bourne, gave some library archives, including a log book, admissions register, minute book, punishment book as well as old photographs to Baldock’s Mill in South Street on Thursday last week.

Staff at the school felt it was time that these bits and pieces were available for the people of Bourne to see.

Headteacher Laurence Reilly was pleased to make the donation.

He said: “We are very happy to pass over these historic pictures and documents of Bourne to the heritage centre for local people to enjoy in years to come.

“We are well-supported by local charities, and we view all charitable local organisations as partners and are always keen to collaborate in projects which benefit the local community.”
