BBC Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull visited Bourne Academy to speak to sixth form pupils and pass on his tips.

Bill was already in the Bourne as he was the guest speaker at the annual Len Pick Trust Memorial Evening, where he spoke to a packed audience about his career.

He also took the time to speak to sixth form pupils at Bourne Academy, who were armed with questions to fire at him.

Bill also gave them an insight into his journalistic background.

Head of media studies Jamie Collier said: “Bill gave us a fascinating insight into the world of television news.

“ His stories were engaging, thought provoking and amusing. I felt the students gained a real understanding of the workings of news programming; they were undoubtedly inspired by this experience.

“We are very grateful to the Len Pick Trust for facilitating Bill’s visit.”

Head girl Beth Pattison said: “I was really impressed with Bill Turnbull’s talk.  I didn’t realise how much he had done in his career.  I thought it was inspiring and humorous.”

Mia Shaw added: “It was a really enjoyable experience that I felt lucky to have.”
